The Foundry & Luxology merger announced yesterday has caused quite a stir in the VFX world. Fxguide managed to get the scoop with in depth interviews with all the main players involved in the merger. As well as interviews with The Foundry CEO Bill Collis & Luxology President Brad Peebler, they also spoke with John Knoll from ILM who first suggested that a Foundry/Luxology merger would be a good fit. They also managed to speak to The Foundry CSO Simon Robinson, who gave a bit more insight into what the merger means from a technical standpoint for both companies.

It will be interesting to see what the integration between Nuke, Katana & Mari with Modo will look like, and what exciting new features will be created for both user bases.
